General information

China is a large country and therefore has various climates. In general there is a temperate climate. In the South of China is the China climate. In the north and west of China is the mountain climate and desert climate. In the East are the foothills of the Himalayas and here can therefore occur the high mountain climate.

China has five religions that are officially recognized by the state: Islam, Taoism, Catholicism, Protestantism and Buddhism. Religious practice is not encouraged by the People's Republic of China, but religious freedom is included in the constitution.

China is a developing country with gigantic economic growth. Agriculture is the most important sector for the Chinese. China is the world's largest rice and wheat producer. The GDP per capita has grown tremendously over the past decades and in 2017 was 16,600 U.S. dollars. The currency is the Chinese renminbi.
