China has five religions that are officially recognized by the state: Islam, Taoism, Catholicism, Protestantism and Buddhism. Religious practice is not encouraged by the People's Republic of China, but religious freedom is included in the constitution.
China is a developing country with gigantic economic growth. Agriculture is the most important sector for the Chinese. China is the world's largest rice and wheat producer. The GDP per capita has grown tremendously over the past decades and in 2017 was 16,600 U.S. dollars. The currency is the Chinese renminbi.
